My Hotel in 1988
La Tosca is a wonderful little Boutique Hotel that is behind The Hotel Quisisana. When you sit on the hotels terrace you have the most beautiful view with the Gardens of Augustus before yu on the right, The Carthusian Monastery directly in front of you and the Faraglioni Rocks up to the right.  This view is absolutely spectacular, and the rates at this lovely hotel are very reasonable, and I’ve always had a most wonderful time staying there.
It’s a short walk to the mai piazza in Capri which is the Piazza Umberto that’s filled with cafes, bars, and trattorias, and it’s a delightful walk from La Tosca to the famed Faroglioni Rocks and Beach Clubs of Da Luigi and la Fontelina.

TILE FLOOR
ADAM and EVE

In The GARDEN of EDEN
The Church of San Michele up in Anacapri is one of the most unusual and charming churches you’ll ever see in your life. I’ve been to many beautiful churches all around the world, but I’ve never seen a church quite like San Michele in Anacapri with its amazing majolica tile floor depicting the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden.
The church located in the Piazza San Nicola ad is Octogonal in shape and is built in the Baroque Style in 1719.
The first thing you see entering the nave of the church is the marvelous hand painted ceramic tile floor. Every inch of it is covered with a grand scene showing the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. The dramatic scene takes place in a lush setting surrounded by trees, plants and all types of animals. This wonderfully preserved floor dates from 1761 and was created by Leonardo Chiaiese, one of the best ceramic artists working in Naples in the 18th century.
